The Virobi working in my small kitchen |

Do you remember the post I wrote some time ago about intelligent vacuum cleaners? Just browse my Wish List to find out that I excessively want to have one. But it cost a bang ... so I have to don't think about it and consume gallons of elbow grease.
But ... the other day I went to the supermarket and I discovered that the Virobi was off 50% of its price. The Virobi is not a vacuum cleaner, let me write it now in bold type: it is a dust catcher. This small robot have a simple anti-static cloth applied on it, so you just have to let it go for a stroll on a room. At the end of cleaning (It has two cycles to chose, one is 30 minutes short, the other is 120 minutes long), the anti-static cloth is covered with dust bowls, I call them 'cats' because that are fluffy. It looks to move at random, just like the Roomba does in this video, and the idea is it's not very clever but ... it works quite well.
The 'robot' moves, as I said, apparently at random. It's actually very meticulous and works a lot in the same areas in order to not leave spaces not visited by it. You have to have trust and let it do what is doing, even if it seems to be blocked in a small area, and unable to get out. I do not recommend the fast cleaning (30 minutes cycle) for this reason, especially if the room is big.
The anti-static cloth after the cleaning of my dining room |
If the floor is wet the Virobi get in panic. The anti-static cloth ends up attached to the floor and Virobi remains locked there. So it's better to check for water on the floor before to start it.
With chairs is as good as one slalom skier. I've personally seen it easily turn around the feet of the stools without any difficulty.
Do not expect it will collect crumbs and/or solid debris, but it is perfect for the powder.
Well, at the end of this test: In the dining room and in the kitchen it has behaved very well even if I was there and I was preparing dinner. The corridor, which is the area most clear from furnitures of the house, did a painstaking job. In the bedroom, with hardwood floors, went to a party ... Do you know how the parquet attract dust? The Virobi made a massacre of 'cats'.
